Indonesian minister conveys economic targets set in G20 Summit

Indonesian Finance Minister Agus Martowardoyo disclosed on Wednesday the economic targets set by delegations attended the recent Toronto G20 Summit.

Speaking in a press conference held here, Agus said that delegations attending the G20 Summit had set a 4 trillion U.S. dollars of gross domestic products (GDP) target that would be attained by series of economic recovery programs.

The target would be attained if all G20 countries adhering to the programs, the minister said.

Besides the GDP target, G20 countries also set employment rate growth up to 52 million people in all country members, 90 million people will be released from poverty and reduction of span between countries with surplus to the ones with deficit in their budgets.

"If we are continuously conducting recovery efforts it will bring benefit to the world," the minister was quoted by the detik. com in the occasion.

According to Agus, G20 member countries were optimistic over the targets since they control 85 percent of the world's economy.

Agus said that that the recovery efforts will be aimed at constructing the foundation for strong, balanced and sustainable economic growth among G20 country members.
