Shanghai plans to build 400 charging stations for electric vehicles this
year, Chinese media said yesterday, citing Liu Jianhua, an official in charge of
promoting alternative-energy vehicles in the city.
With support from the national grid, the stations will be mainly located in
neighborhood communities and public transport hubs.
The city government will add SAIC Motor Corp's hybrid vehicle, the Roewe 750,
to its purchase list to raise awareness of alternative-energy vehicles, the
reports said. The hybrid Roewe 750 will hit the market at the end of this
year.
